Paper Gardens is the new exhibition by Georgia Tseri and Dimitris Andreopoulos, continuing their creative collaboration through a shared artistic dialogue. Drawing inspiration from the garden as a place of coexistence and care, the two artists create a space where natural materials, light and the human gesture come together to shape an experience of contemplation and quietness.
The exhibition explores the many expressions of paper, both as a natural material and as a medium for artistic creation. Ink paintings, lighting objects, sculptural constructions and aromatic compositions coexist within a unified environment, where paper, wood, bamboo, wire and light form a cohesive visual language.
Dimitris Andreopoulos presents lighting objects and sculptural constructions made from paper, wood and wire. The organic forms of his works explore the relationship between structure and light, emphasising the sculptural and functional qualities of simple natural materials.
Georgia Tseri presents a new body of ink works on handmade paper, alongside lighting objects and aromatic compositions. In recent years, her study of Japanese calligraphy and ink painting has profoundly shaped her artistic practice, leading to a more restrained visual language in which line, rhythm and close observation of the natural world take centre stage.
At the heart of their collaboration lies the belief that materials possess their own expressive power. Their artistic practice does not seek to alter the nature of these materials, but rather to reveal their inherent qualities and distinctive presence. Handmade craftsmanship, economy of means and attentive observation of the natural world provide the common ground upon which their artistic vision unfolds.
Paper Gardens invites visitors to wander through a space where paper, light, scent and natural materials come together to create a tranquil landscape of contemplation, evoking the experience of a garden.
