Angelos Antonopoulos

Angelos Antonopoulos was born in Arkadia, Peloponnese in 1957. He studied Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts as a student of D. Mytaras, D. Kokkinidis, V. Dimitreas, and Stage Design with V. Vassiliadis. He has presented more than 20 solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions in Greece and abroad (Cyprus, Spain, Germany, Italy, Croatia, UK, U.S.A). He created a large-sized poster for the movie theatre Ideal in Athens and Cineak in Piraeus.  Since 1989, he teaches Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts. His sculptures are usually made of metal mesh and modeling fabric. Using various expressive techniques and mixed media he constructs wall-mounted three-dimensional compositions aimed to emphasize the complexity of the human mind and existence.
